I had Beek Sukiyaki with udon and the broth is so flavorful :) I really liked how fresh the noodles tasted too. I liked the Melon Creamy Soda, I thought I wouldn't cuz I've had bad cream soda but this one is really good! Don't have that nasty milky taste. Not suitable for large group. Small groups, please :)

Hot and cold noodles—something for everyone! This place has been on my list for a while and finally made it here. It didn’t disappoint. Service is warm and attentive, decor is cheerful, and they use beautiful Japanese ceramics to serve everything. I was blown away by the flavors. As a big fan of cold noodle dishes from around Asia, I don’t think there’s a better meal in the warm months and Somenya has an extensive menu of cold as well as hot noodle dishes with udon or soba. I also really enjoyed appetizers of salmon tartare with a great yuzu marinade and the takoyaki had large chunks of octopus inside with a gooey dough. Definitely go try out this gem if you enjoy cold noodles. I believe it’s the only place in Boston/Cambridge with cold noodles.

Wonder little soba noodles shop with other Japanese classics. The soba and other noodles are very good, portions are slightly small but it’s worth the value. Service is also great. In Chinatown, so it’s hard to find parking

The snow crab cold soba, served with chilli garlic on the side, is especially refreshing & delicious for dinner on a hot day. The broth of both the beef hot udon and seafood hot udon are tasty. The only suggestion I have is the staff shouldn’t be eating their dinner while serving the customers. It’s around 8-9pm on a Sat night, the restaurant is constantly fully seated but the two staff occupied two tables eating their dinner while working throughout the time we’re there. That really looks unprofessional to me.

Cute little udon and soba place! Casual, clean spot with a wide selection of udon and soba, much of which can be served either hot or cold and using either noodles type. Loved the cold udon, it was excellent. A little less impressed with the takoyaki, but it’s not usually one of my favorites anyway.

This location hasn’t been claimed on Google yet, but we visited their second spot in Quincy and were thrilled to see they've opened here. We went for dinner and had a wonderful experience. The space is beautifully decorated, with thoughtful design details and plenty of eye-catching decor. We ordered the Koji Fried Chicken, Beef Sukiyaki Udon, and Kimchi Beef Udon. The chicken was incredibly juicy with a perfect crispy coating, and both udon dishes were full of flavor and served in generous portions. The menu has a wide variety of appealing options, so I’m looking forward to coming back and trying more. It’s a great spot for a quick, satisfying lunch or dinner.

Home-made udon and soba with quality topping and flavorful broth! The server was super friendly and gave great recommendations. Will definitely stop by again to try the cold noodles when the day is warmer!

It was worth the wait. We went during a time you would assume service dies down but we still had to wait thirty minutes to get in. I'm so glad we did! The Beef Curry hot soba was delicious and provided plenty of umami with a comforting feeling. It was topped with a perfectly cooked poached egg that added creaminess to the broth. The other dishes that friends ordered were also flavorful and delicious. The hot broths were a fantastic base for the ingredients. We got the Koji Karaage and Spicy Salmon Tartare as appetizers and they were the perfect start. It was hard to choose from the vast menu of yumminess. I highly recommend you add this place to your list of Need To Go restaurants.
